The standard for certified investment-grade colored gemstones
Certified. Sealed. Documented. TRADABLE.
The GemUnit by Deutsches Edelsteinhaus DEH GmbH represents certified, investment-grade colored gemstones—sealed, documented, and tradable. Each GemUnit combines a carefully selected gemstone with comprehensive certification, providing lasting clarity on origin, quality, and value.
It creates transparency, comparability, and structural traceability as the basis for a disciplined classification of colored gemstones within a long-term asset strategy.
The standard for certified investment-grade colored gemstones.
The GemUnit follows the principle of standardized units of value, as has proven successful in the precious-metals sector. Trust is created when values are certified, documented, sealed, and tradable as an independent unit.
This standardization model is applied to colored gemstones. Each GemUnit is designed as a structured investment unit—independently certified, fully documented, tamper-evidently sealed, and clearly tradable.
Key parameters such as gemstone type, weight, specifications, and references to laboratory and expert reports are displayed clearly. The seal protects the integrity of the unit, and the documentation ensures long-term traceability.
In this way, a single gemstone becomes a clearly defined, certified, documented, sealed, and tradable investment unit—forming a structured basis for a long-term asset strategy.

Allocating roughly ten to fifteen percent of total assets to tangible assets is often considered a proven approach to diversification.
Colored gemstones can offer a compact, portable, and value-dense way to preserve assets over the long term.
As physical assets outside traditional financial market structures, they can reduce dependence on currency and market volatility, may offer inflation resilience, and can be passed down through generations.
Gemstones are not a short-term investment. Their value develops over years, often decades. An investment horizon of five to ten years is recommended. This way, returns are not generated through fluctuations, but value through stability.
For beginners, aquamarines, tourmalines, spinels, peridots, and tanzanites are recommended – solid investments with consistent demand.
For larger volumes, the “Big Three” are suitable: ruby, sapphire, and emerald.
The Paraiba tourmaline is considered a rarity of the highest quality and a specialty of experienced investors.

A unique service for our customers
The GemUnit forms the basis of our secondary-market concept. Through certification, documentation, and sealing, each unit is uniquely identifiable and verifiably traceable—an essential prerequisite for structured resale.
The secondary market exclusively offers GemUnits originally acquired through the German Gemstone House. Buyers receive complete documentation, including a gemological laboratory report and an appraisal by a publicly appointed and sworn expert.
The German Gemstone House provides organizational support for the transaction and accompanies the process between private seller and buyer—without acting as a trading partner itself.
The entire sales process—from initial matchmaking to final delivery—is handled professionally and securely by the German Gemstone House in the interest of all parties.
